Roof Restoration Brisbane Southside
Does your roof need rejuvenating?

If you live on Brisbane’s southside and it’s time to restore your home’s roof, you’ve come to the right place.

JMZ Roof Restorations is a locally-owned and operated business which services most of Brisbane including the suburbs of Macgregor, Mt Gravatt, Holland Park, Eight Mile Plains and surrounds.

In this blog we share a restoration story from the suburb of Belmont, just off the Gateway Motorway.

Terracotta Roof Restoration Brisbane

The professionals at JMZ Roof Restorations were contacted by the resident of a Belmont home who wanted to reinvigorate their deteriorating roof and boost the appearance of their house.

The terracotta tiled roof – which was 35-years-old – had been painted in the past but was in need of a good clean, minor repairs and a quality roof membrane.

Our team used Globalcote’s Flexible Pointing for the pointing of Ridge Caps.

We then applied Globalcote’s Prepcote to sterilise the roof surface, followed by one (1) coat of Globalcote’s Primecote Sealer/Primer.

The final step was applying two (2) Globalcote’s Elastacote Roof Membrane in the colour Graphite.

All the steps in JMZ’s comprehensive terracotta roof restoration process can be foundhere.

Belmont Roof Restoration

The Belmont homeowner said the whole experience with JMZ Roof Restorations was “amazing” and gave our team a “big thumbs up”.

“Right from the initial quoting phase they appeared very professional. They provided us with everything we needed to successfully choose the right colour, a list of previous jobs in our area so we could view the colours on our shortlist which made it easy to determine the final colour. The whole team including the admin staff are very professional and answered our constant queries immediately. The team who performed the restoration too were amazing. We are really happy with the finished product and do not hesitate to recommend JMZ.” Steven S.

Despite the resident being content with the final product, the cleaning process wasn’t all smooth sailing as the JMZ team found rust damage. The client was happy with how we dealt with the problem and how fast we rectified it.

“During the cleaning process a leak in a valley cover appeared which was due to excessive rust, not the fault of the cleaning, which the team from JMZ were very proactive, and quickly replaced the valley cover.” Steven S.

Choosing a roof colour isn’t just about what looks good. In Ipswich, it can also impact how hot your home gets, how long the coating lasts, and how well your roof handles storm season. So how do you pick the right colour — one that’s both beautiful and practical? Understanding Ipswich’s Climate and Its Impact on Colour Ipswich homes face a mix of harsh elements: Intense sunlight and UV radiation High summer heat - Seasonal storms and heavy rain Airborne dust and debris Dark roofs tend to absorb more heat, which can raise internal temperatures. They also fade faster under UV exposure. Lighter roofs reflect more sunlight, keeping your home cooler and helping the coating last longer. Popular Roof Colours in Ipswich Globalcote colour options for Ipswich homeowners: Surfmist: Bright, clean, and one of the highest for heat reflection Shale Grey: Modern and versatile with good solar performance Evening Haze: Soft and neutral with broad street appeal Dune: An earthy tone that blends well with older and newer homes Windspray: Subtle and stylish, suitable for various house styles All these colours are available in Globalcote’s Infracote (heat reflective) and Elastacote (flexible membrane) roof coating systems. Quick Answer: What Roof Colours Work Best in Ipswich? Lighter, UV-stable colours like Surfmist, Shale Grey, and Dune work best in Ipswich.
